Non-AG horse

Hi all! It's been awhile since I've posted (I'm a lurker, typically) but I need some help.

DD would like an AG horse for her birthday. She'd really like Penny, but I'm having a hard time paying $62 for her (finding a horse for less than that frees up $$ to buy the riding outfit or something else, too). E-bay doesn't have a lot to offer right now and her birthday is coming up in a few weeks. My local toy stores haven't been much help either. Can anyone point me towards a less expensive horse for an AG doll that is the same color as Penny? DD said a non-Penny would be OK as long as it looked like Penny.

Target carries an Our Generation horse that is comparable in size to the AG horse. They come with a lot of cool accessories too.

I have the Palomino Our Generation horse and she is great!I named her Nickel!

My dds also have the Palomino OG horse, a TS find still in box with quite a few acc. for $10 altho I'm not sure what they run or who carries them.

I can't compare the two as this is our only horse but the OG is very sturdy and fits the AG doll very well, long silky tail and mane. There was an older post asking if Kaya's saddle fit the OG horse, it did and pics were posted, there may have even been comparison pics also. A search should bring them up.

Thank you all for your helpful advice. I went to Target today and picked up an Our Generation horse for DD (side note- I can't believe I didn't think to look there; I've been calling all over town looking for a horse, yet go to Target at least twice a week!). I wish the OG horse was flocked (fleeced-?) like Penny, but for half the price it can't be beat! I'm certain DD won't even notice the difference after she starts playing with her.
